Early Childhood Development Program

Early-childhood Development/Educational philosophy:

Northern Michigan Christian School believes that each child is created in God’s image and as such has inestimable worth.  As image bearers of God, children must develop spiritually as well as mentally, physically, emotionally, and socially.  Growth in these areas is a developmental process.  We desire to partner with parents to achieve growth in all areas.  Our curriculum presents a Christ-centered worldview.

Pre-school program:

The Half-Day Pre-school program is for children who are 4 or will turn 4 during the school year and will not be entering Kindergarten the following year.  Classes meet on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8:30-11:30.

Young 5s program:

The Young 5s program meets Monday and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays for a full day.  This program is available for children who will turn 5 years old during the school year and will be entering kindergarten the following year.  Classes meet from 8:12-2:50.  An optional Friday class is available for all students.

The NMCS Early Childhood Development Program operates under license from the Department of Social Services of the State of Michigan and ais under the authority of the NMCS Board.  The children will be under the instruction of a certified teacher who will provide a structured program.

Enrollment is open to anyone interested and the program will not discriminate against anyone on the basis of race, color, gender, national origin, or handicapped condition.
